Is the Muslim Brotherhood behind the anti-Israel protests in the West?¶
Short answer: NOT AS DIRECTED OPERATIONS. No court record, terrorism designation, or legal filing shows the Brotherhood running Western protests. The movement's signature slogan is not theirs. And the money trail runs through fiscal sponsors and small donors, not Brotherhood structures. What IS documented is serious. The Brotherhood's leaders publicly blessed October 7 and called for protests worldwide. Its related organizations openly take part in the protest coalitions. Four of its Middle East branches are now US-designated terrorist entities for firing rockets, plotting attacks, and giving material support to Hamas. And its London finance-and-media hub is under US sanctions. One question is still open: are today's American groups the same 1990s Hamas-support network? That goes to trial in February 2027, and this site waits for the verdicts. Both the conspiracy version and the nothing-to-see version fail the record.
What's verified [each tagged in Document 31]¶
- The blessing: the MB's official October 7, 2023 statement "blesses" the attack and tells Muslims to "demonstrate." Its 2025 anniversary statement went further and urged governments to give Gaza "military support." The Qaradawi-legacy scholars' union declared by fatwa that support is a religious duty [VERIFIED via their own statements]
- The designations: the Lebanese MB is now an FTO — it fired rockets into Israel alongside Hezbollah and Hamas. The Egyptian, Jordanian, and Sudanese branches were designated in 2026. The London-based General Secretariat chief was sanctioned in July 2026 [VERIFIED via Treasury/Federal Register]
- The negative findings that discipline the claim: the slogan "globalize the intifada" began in 2002 left and anti-war circles. Its main carriers are PFLP-adjacent secular-left networks, not the Brotherhood [VERIFIED-negative]. No Western court has ever convicted a violent plot as an MB-structure operation — the convicted European weapons plots (Berlin 2026) were run by Hamas's external military wing, and Austria's MB case collapsed when its raids were ruled unlawful [VERIFIED]. The campaign-money version fails the registry too — AMP has no FEC committee, CAIR's PAC shows $0.00, and no MB-lineage organizational dollar shows up in any candidate's filings [VERIFIED via FEC]
- The lineage tier, kept honest: today's major US Muslim organizations were founded in the 1980s–90s Brotherhood milieu. Wiretaps and the 2008 Holy Land Foundation trial document this. Whether that makes them the same network today is exactly the question Boim v. AMP decides on February 8, 2027 [DOCUMENTED lineage; the continuity claim pending trial]
The tiers test [ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK]¶
Lineage, coalition co-participation, amplification, and direction are four different claims. Each rests on a different body of evidence. The Brotherhood's documented role is the third — religious legitimization and cheerleading on a global scale. The fourth — command of Western streets — is the claim every court and filing has so far declined to support. Anyone who blends the tiers, whether prosecutor or defender, has left the evidence behind.
